My new short story, “An Uncloudy Day,” is about a subject I know well: hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico. When my wife and I owned a beach house there, we became avid storm-watchers, always alert for danger in the forecast. In this story, a longtime resident waits as a potentially devastating Category 5 approaches her home. Her deep connection to the sea and her past lead her to a difficult decision.
Thanks to the Dead Mule School of Southern Literature for publishing my work. No good Southern writing is complete without a dead mule! Check out all the other great writing on their site. You can find more of my stories right here.
